Homeless Grants Bill: This $3 billion bill will be for grants to homeless people. On an average night, there are about 610,042 homeless people are living without a house to go to according to National Alliance to End Homelessness. About 1/10 of the homeless people are veterans that risked their lives for us and about 40% have mental or physical disabilities according to Disability Scoop.
Drug Rehabilitation Program Grants Bill: This $1 billion bill will be for grants toward drug rehabilitation programs. In 2009, 23.5 million people needed treatment for alcohol or drug abuse. Only 2.4 million people were able to receive treatment according to Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s National Survey on Drug Use and Health. Every year, more and more people are needing treatment. These peoples lives are going down the hole and their own friends and family can sometimes give up on them.

Over the years, more and more information about marijuana is coming out and more people are starting to agree with legalizing it. According to the Gallup Poll In 1969, only 12% of the country wanted marijuana to be legal and 84% wanted marijuana to be illegal. Than in 2013, 58% of the country believed marijuana should be legal and only 39% said it should remain illegal. If marijuana has properties to help cure illnesses, why not legalize it.
